NNLAMS Southwest Officer Positions

 

Belowis a list of Officer positions that will be open for the 2008-2009 academicyear.  You are eligible to serve inone of these positions if you are a current NNLAMS member in a chapter locatedin the Southwest Region.  Pleasecontact the Chair of your local chapter to express your interest in filling oneof these positions.

 

 

 

Chair      The Chair isresponsible for scheduling all meetings and conferences throughout theyear.  The Chair is the equivalent of the CorporationÕs President or ChiefExecutive Officer.  He/she is the official spokesperson and representativeof NNLAMS-SW, and is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the chaptersinto a regional agenda.  He or she should be aware of all mattersregarding the organization.  The Chair is responsible for overseeing allthe NNLAMS-SW officers, committees and taskforces.  He/she should be ableto manage the affairs of NNLAMS-SW in a timely and dependable fashion. Finally, the Chair will be a member of the Board of Directors for the umbrellaNNLAMS organization and will relay information between each organizationeffectively.

 

Treasurer     The Treasurer shallmaintain and invest the funds of the Corporation as directed by the ExecutiveBoard.  The Treasurer shall keep full and accurate accounts of receiptsand disbursements in the books belonging to the Corporation; shall renderperiodic financial statements to the Executive Board and membership; shallprepare annual budgets; and shall perform other such duties as are incident tothe office; and shall undertake such other duties as are required from time totime by the Executive Board.

 

Secretary      The Secretaryshall keep the minutes of all meetings of the Executive Board.  Further,the Secretary shall attend to the giving and serving of all notices of theCorporation.  The Secretary shall have custody of the corporate seal andproperly keep, or cause to be kept, the record books of the Corporation. In general, the Secretary shall have all duties incident to that office, aswell as other such duties as the Executive Board may determine from time totime.

 

FundraisingChair     The Fundraising Chairshall be responsible for coordinating the CorporationÕs fundraising efforts,including applying for grants from foundations, public charities andgovernmental entities.


 

PublicationChair     The Publication Chairshall be responsible for publishing at least one article per year by aNNLAMS-SW member in the nationally distributed professional periodical or website.  He or she will also coordinate and publish a quarterly newsletterfor NNLAMS-SW.  The newsletter shall be posted to the CorporationÕs website and printed for distribution.

 

MembershipChair     The Membership Chairshall keep a membership database containing the name, address, phone number,and e-mail address of each member of NNLAMS-SW with the date that he/she becamea member.

 

Webmaster     The Webmaster shallcreate, when necessary, and maintain the CorporationÕs web site with currentinformation about the Corporation, and the CorporationÕs 6 states.  TheWebmaster shall work closely with the Publication Chair and the MembershipChair to ensure that all regions have access to the newsletter and membershipdatabase on the CorporationÕs web site.
